Elected Coordinators

 The Elected Coordinators of 2020/2021 SIGs:

  1. Organizing Committee (Dr. Ossama ‎Sayed)
  2. Media Committee (Dr. Ali Al Baloushi)
  3. Public Relationships Committee (Dr. Nasser Al Hindasi)
  4. Research Committee (Dr. Khalid Al-Jardani)
  5. Professional Development Committee (Dr. Khadija Al Baloushi)
  6. Website and Publications Committee: (Dr. Kodhandaraman Chinnathambi)

The Steering Committee:

The Steering Committee consists of FIVE members; TESOL Oman General Director, TESOL Oman Executive Director, one member from Ministry of Higher Education Headquarter, the head of the Website and Publications Committee, and the current president of TESOL Oman.

The responsibilities of the Steering Committee are to:

  • Collaborate with the SIG Coordinator and various entities in carrying out SIG related workshops. Coordination includes:
    • Contacting the presenters.
    • Designing the program flyer which includes the schedule of the workshop, the presenters’ bios and the abstracts.
    • Informing the SIG members.
    • Designing post evaluation forms.
    • Keeping a record of attendees.
    • Running the SIG archive.

The following are the qualifications of the candidates to the Coordinator and the Steering Committee positions:

  1. Have excellent computer skills.
  2. Be available to attend SIG meetings, workshops as well as TESOL Oman   annual Conference in (January/February).
  3. Have good interpersonal skills to network with other teachers and help the SIG coordinator in sending emails.
  4. Have good presentation skills.
  5. Have relevant teaching experience and passion to serve in the area of specialization for the specific SIG.
